Whats the hardest, most frustrating level of a game you've ever played?

mostly the one from reddit. Basically the reddit thread asked people the hardest game level of a game they have ever, ever played and I couldn't help but remember the first game i got for PS2, mother fucking Rayman 1. I think I was in the 3rd grade when i was playing this. This bastard of a game starts out pretty straight forward, fun with minor challenges here and there but nothing a little patience didn't. And then you reach this level called "bandland" that instantly, as soon as you spawn in the new level, makes no sense. Everything kills you. Everything. Its weird because I hadnt realized my addiction to this game until i got to this level. There was absolutely no getting past this level no matter what I did. Eventually, I ended up breaking the cd and a part of my ps1 out of frustration on afternoon. best decision of my life lol.

but on this random reddit thread i came accross a month ago i see this thread and look, hey, a top comment is Rayman! and that fucking bandland level! which gave me that little verification like "yea your no dumbass, the game developers are just basically evil". then the cracked article basically verified that fact further.

Still can't decide if the mental determination these games produce early on as a kid is worth the, inefficient use of time that goes on playing said games as an adult..

sad part is no one cares that people get hooked on there games, they just try to make them more addicting for a profit. one of the main reasons i stopped playing lol was the BLATANT power creep that newer, more expense champs were developing.

but anyways what was your experience with a crazily, maddening game level

Good idea with Videos

I only played God of war 2, and thought it was really easy. Like the game illistrates pretty obviously what to do in all situations. maybe the first was too frustrating?

and the AI in standard, preinstalled chess is NO fucking joke, like forreal, that mother fucker is a cutthroat fuck.

lol cool borders, I always had the trial version and kind of liked it but I always remember saying to myself I'll buy the game when it stops being stupid ( i.e. when the power meter would start making sense, or why would they create part of the map that looked like obstacles to avoid) and it never did.



I never played mario 64 solo, but from the videos ive seen the way to beat some of the harder levels are insane. It makes no sense for someone to learn when to do certain things

Mario 64 is one of the most insane games ever made. This is because of the incredible amount of exploits available on every level and almost infinite ways to be mario. What makes this game so unique is that if you can dream of an exploit you can find it (like hacking the game in real life) (i.e. bouncing backwards on your ass 100 times up a spiral staircase to shoot through 12 walls into the portrait of bowser). I believe when people speed-run Mario 64 they are communicating with God.

That being said, I know some pretty dumb kids who got 121 stars, definitely not the hardest game.
