and even "The Zombie Survival Guide: Complete Protection from the Living Dead" by Max Brooks because if you can survive zombies you can survive a little depression.

1) Raise income taxes, giving people less money to put into the economy
2) Raise corporate taxes, forcing businesses to either close or go overseas
3) Raise dividend taxes, decreasing the incentive to invest in the stock market

The problem with Obama is that all his changes and plans, take butt loads of money. Also look at it this way, if a democrat wins, generally what they will do is raise big business taxes. If a conservative wins, they will try to cut them. Obama or Mccain wouldn't be on their party ticket if they didn't uphold the parties general will. So you can pretty much trust that they will do the same thing Bush or Clinton did respectively. Only in times of crisis does this idea differ (which is where you will either decide you want a more experienced street smart, or Higher "elite" educated person). Also Obama isn't going to pull out of Iraq or Afghanistan until the whole thing is over. Losing a war means that we would be giving countries that are truly hostile to us an upper hand. I mean right now Venezuela is letting Russian warships do military maneuvers right off of their coast. Waters that are generally controlled by the US. The downfall in the economy is caused by poor loan decisions by the common consumer, and unethical yet legal buyouts and loans on things like Mortgages by large companies. The problem is that ppl aren't properly educated on how to invest, save, and use credit.

I have somewhat around 27 guns, ranging between shotguns (pump, double barrel, bolt/magazine), pistols, mostly rifles (including my prized possession Springfield '03 30-06 bolt action with a 4 round internal mag... which i can put 5 rounds in a nickel at 600 meters). Oh and some black powder guns if i wanted to feel civil war'ish.
I also have a few Bows and a SHITLOAD of arrows. Im pretty good with them, and if i ever need to go Rambo, i could.
I currently have a house in the Bronx still, with my new house in East Fishkill NY, on a dead end road with 150 acres of state land behind me. I also have 6 acres of land up in Monticello in the town of Bethel (1 mile from the original woodstock).
Im fuckin set. I have learned survival skills since im little, and i can live off the land and defend myself if needed for as long as i need. If anyone needs a place to stay, as long as you listen to what i say, you are more then welcome to hang around.

Don't take this shit like it's going to be something incredibly dramatic. The first stock market crash was bad because everyone ran to the banks to get their money out before all hell broke loose. Banks fell because they didn't have the money and thus things were as bad as they were. People are not going to banks and getting their money now, so what makes you think that it's going to be anything worse?
As I see it now, I think it would be better to raise taxes, and not have some dipshit making 700 billion bailout plans. People are purchasing these loans overseas, and guess what that's doing? The value of the dollar is decreasing, so inflation is going to be even worse. You're going to be working for pennies soon enough, and it's going to be wheelbarrels of money just to buy a loaf of bread or water.
The good thing is that this is a global occurrence. Most of the world is suffering if not all of it, including Europe and Asia. But guess who's not suffering at all? The middle easterns. Guess what happens when you laugh at them for being third world? They rise above you from the oil that you've been buying off them.
However, thanks to us sticking through and not using our oil reserves, we have something that could possibly do us a little good. If we let a country that is in high demand for oil other than ourselves import the oil and make a revenue off of them, perhaps that could increase the amount of the dollar a little bit. It won't do much, but it's worth a start.
Obama needs to support offshore drilling. It's time America has taken the middle eastern's ideas for oil. They're the ones that are thriving on success, we're the ones that are taking a fall because we aren't. We have the resources, we just have conservatives that aren't willing to use them.
Oh, and also, the only people that will really be harmed if the bottom falls out of our economy is the rich people. The value of the dollar goes down, they're fucked. The poor can barter their way to survival, the rich have no damn clue.
Although you should not take this situation lightly, you should not take it so seriously either. If you're poor, well, you're used to being poor, so what does it matter to you? If you're rich? Enjoy being fucked.

Okay. Little Timmy is pissed off. The economy sucks, gas prices are ridiculous, and food costs more and more each day. Timmy bitches to the "Big, Bad Government" about his problems.
The Elected Government Officials are like, "Hey, if we want to get re-elected, we're going to have to make these idiots we represent like us."
So, the "Big, Bad Government" wants to look great in the eyes of the struggling people. The poor people see "Big, Bad Oil" CEO's making billions annually. The "Big, Bad Government" decides that to get the public support, they are going to attack those "Dirty, Evil, Corrupt Oil Execs".
But the economy starts to shit out even more, and Timmy doesn't understand why. The Government took money from the "Evil" Oil Companies, but Timmy never saw that money, and his food and gas and living expenses keep rising.
Little did Little Timmy know, those Oil Companies and other multi-million dollar companies affect everything in American economic culture. Gas prices going up means that it costs more to grow, harvest, and ship corn and wheat. Instead of cutting taxes to help the oil companies lower prices, people want alternative fuels... Corn-Based Ethanol! But that just causes the price of corn to go up more, and more for gas, too. Soon milk, cheese, meat, vegetables and fruit all go up in price too, because the corn makes it more expensive to raise, feed, and milk cows, chickens, and pigs. These animals also provide manure that helps produce the vegetables and fruits you eat. Because you thought it was "Big Oil's" fault, you're paying more for food all around.
