Guys, I have a 1GB flash drive USB. Recently, I set out to find the most useful shit i could put on it and got it. 1) Damn Small Linux 50 MB, fairly easy to install, allows you to boot ANY COMPUTER to linux from ur usb stick. It has a nice GUI, firefox, thunderbird, file browsers, system utilities, and is SAVEABLE. -[link]- 2) Portable Apps Works on windows computers-- put in ur stick and a menu pops up with ANY TYPE of program u can think of for windows, including SAVEAwwdBLE BOOKMARKS, SAVED EMAILS, etc etc all on your USB stick. It also shows you how to make a certain part of ur stick encrypted, so nobody finds THOSE files  -- This pack includes everything from net stumbler, to defrags, to IRC/AIM/MSN/Yahoo/Gaim to games, to a FULL OFFICE SUITE (open office, its what i use anyway- linux), antivirus anti spyware, packet sniffers, encryption/decryption zip/tar/archive extractor and god fucking knows how much else I cant even think of now.-[link]- So basically, I spent about 5 hours yesterday, and now have a USB stick that I take with me to any job/outing and can have my mail, bookmarks, AIM, and documents with me anywhere I go. I also set the auto backup program to copy all my docs to my computer every time i plug it in. I highly recommend this for any level user (the portable apps only for n00bs, Papps AND linux for dedicated ppl) Get it done, and hope someone likes this shit! |

Portable apps seems pretty nice, I'm definately going to set that up on my flash drive when I get home. And also, is it possible to not own a flash drive anymore these days? I use it for every school assignment | ||

Maybe make this into a tutorial? Seems like it'd be really helpful to some people. I'm so getting that linux thing. | ||
