Ok guys, I'm going to try and build an X-Box, HDTV, sports bar gaming palace. I've had some unusual luck at the tables on weekends, got end year bonuses coming in and don't have any debt to speak of. With that said, I'm building the following. (plus taxes aren't too far off) I want to know if you guys know where I can get any of this cheaper or if you were doing it would you do anything different. I'll have photos as it progresses. I'm trying to keep everything under $5,000. I got an electrician to run all the wiring too. I'll build most shelves and shit myself. But here's what I'm looking to buy. 42" LCD HDTV (2) - $2,000 Wall Mount (2) - $200 X-Box 360 (2) - $700 Wireless Controllers (8) - $400 Cabinet for X-Box & DVD, etc - $??? Build my own?? 30" CRT (2) - $200 (these will go up in the corners for sports) Wireless Router 6-8 port - $150(??) Laptop - $1000 (this will control... stuff... not sure... Itunes over surround sound at least... can you do DUAL displays with a laptop? To play pirated movies on the HD's??? How much of this can be wireless??) Surround sound - $?? I know shit about audio... please help. Couches (2) - How much is a fucking couch/package? I need like end tables and coffee tables too... That should do it, I got other stuff already like mini fridges and shit. I got a question though, I haven't had cable in a long time, is it still possible to just splice cable lines with a splitter and run them to as many TV's as I want? I don't want to buy a box for each TV. Will I also pickup the HD content without a box as long as the TV's have an HD Tuner?? What about changing channels? With perhaps a few of the same types of TV's in the same room? (lol is this a stupid question?) Comments? Suggestions? Basically if you could build any sort of super entertainment center for Madden/Halo Tournaments, Movie Marathons, Sunday Football Parties what would you do??? I really would like to get my PC hooked up in the best manner possible also. I'm looking at this too -[link]- so I can watch TV on my PC monitor in my room... |

FIRST!!! wow very interesting project you got here...try to safe some money on the laptop, go to newegg.com or something... for my surround sound the price was like 60 bucks lol  logitech, very nice and affordable.

Links please? To the surround sound, specs, # of speakers, the question is... is it worth to have surround sound if I have two different systems running... that might just get out of hand. | ||

Yea noskill the splitter thing works. My friend pays for one box but has 4 tvs wit cable on it. =/ For the TV, circuit city/pc richards are having holiday sales which cud blow your mind away. For the furniture and wall mount id say visit Ikea. And the electronic shit.. lol have fun? |
