no offense but please dont bitch if this thread doesnt belong here. if u do then make a new place called random shit and put it there...... ive been told by numeruos ppl have told me that im racist because i say "peace nigga " or "peace nig". ive talked to alex about this and he said its fine so pleze get off my back about it ... thnx (^^sry if i seem offensive but im just sick of it, im not racist, the only reasin i say that is becuase ive been raised around black ppl so i hear it all the time.) It's a judgment call. Personally, I couldn't care less. However, if it was me, I wouldn't say "Peace, Niggas". Yes, it is not as bad a directing the comment towards someone in particular, but is it really necessary? No, it's not. Having said that, many people would take issue with someone just saying "nigger"; regardless if it was directed at someone. That is, someone gets killed and, rather than saying "shit" or "fuck", he/she says "nigger". Yes, that would piss many people off. The larger issue here, Twitch, is it really that difficult for you not to say "peace, niggas"? How about just "peace"? Not only is it a dick thing to say, it makes you even more of an asshole for you to imply "hey, regardless of who it offends, I'm going to continue to say it because my friends are cool with it...I'm just used to saying nigga, so deal with it." I dont know if I'd call you a racist, but I would certainly call you inconsiderate. How about not saying it at all? Did you ever consider that? Or would that too much of an inconvenience? Why keep on saying racist comments (regarless of your intentions) and getting angry when people take issue with you saying "nigger". What are you hoping to accomplish? Those who take issue with the word "nigger" are not the assholes. Try not saying the word and getting pissed when people have a problem. |

Well, given the hip-hop culture that we are living in today, the term 'nigga' has different connotations than say, the 'er' version. Nigga is a term of endearment rather than a racial slur. Regardless, white boys should refrain from saying either because sometimes terms do not translate well over computer text. Don't get me wrong, I've got a closet full of Sean John, Rocawear, Avirex and 4 pairs of Tims, and in the direct company of friends, the term nigga is understood between everyone. Online, different people might interpret it differently and some might find it offensive. I dunno though. Perhaps staying away from "peace nig" because that term is a bit more ambiguous. "Peace nigga" is more clear cut in the context of the culture to which it relates and most people will understand that its just an attempt to use the popular venacular (slang). Twitch, judging by your sig, you're a master of race relations.  Please don't run for mayor of New Orleans. hehe Peace homeboy. This is just a stupid thread. If you try to defend your use of racial slang, youre just going to start controversy. The best bet is to just be racist., and low key about it. Err, rather I meant any racist terms I would not know anything about, nor would I disclose such information if it existed. |
